Investigation of the Effects of Alcohol-Based Fuel Additive on Engine Performance and Exhaust Emissions in a Spark-Ignition Gasoline Engine

Although fossil fuel reserves have been decreasing day by day, the high carbon emissions of fossil-based vehicles and fact that these trigger global warming cau-se researchers to focus on alternative fuels. CO HC, which form exhaust motor vehicles, called unburned fuel, been, threatened human health. Efforts re-duce CO2, triggers warming, NOx emissions, turn into acid rain, are increasing day. It is tried reduce harmful mixing ethanol, methanol, propanol, butanol their derivatives fuels as alcohol-based in certain proportions. The aim this study investigate usability waste fusel oil plant-based methanol an internal combustion engines without need for any auxiliary system effects added gasoline engine performance emissions. In experimental study, engi-ne performance, it was determined torque decreased 11.62% F20 6.45% M20 compared G fuel.While increase BSFC values detected both test fuels, there a decrease EGT values.According emission results, average 7.31% 13.40% while CO2 occurred.
